About RiskTAE
RiskTAE Limited is a specialist risk consulting firm based in London that covers the whole risk function for chief risk officers and their teams: advisory and consulting, executive search, training and the RisKIT prudential models. It brings together senior practitioners who have known and worked with each other for years. The name stands for Risk Talent, Advisory and Education.
The firm exists so that a risk leader can take advice, get the work done, hire, train a team and buy the models through one specialist, run by people who have done the work themselves. Risk is the only thing we do, and we work with firms in the UK and worldwide.

Our people
Who does the work?
RiskTAE brings together senior risk experts who have known and worked with each other for years: former chief risk officers and heads of risk, former regulators, interim executives, model and quant specialists, professional trainers, risk analysts and designers. They work under RiskTAE’s name and to its standards.
Each engagement draws on the people whose experience fits it, and a founding partner leads every client relationship. The firm is led by its founders, Mark Dougherty and Benn Pople.
Mark Dougherty
Co-founder and Managing Director
Our technical lead. An accountant and risk practitioner, he leads advisory, consulting and training work and directs RisKIT model development.
Mark has more than 30 years in financial services, over 20 of them in risk management, across fintech, capital markets, investment and retail banking, asset management, and general and life insurance.
He has served as an interim chief risk officer and has worked in London, New York and Toronto, among other financial centres. He contributes risk management lectures to the University of Cambridge’s Banking Executive Programme and presents risk seminars internationally. As a senior partner in Risks Explained Ltd he has written online courses on the Basel reforms to credit, market and operational risk, and he is the author of books and articles on risk management.

Benn Pople
Co-founder and Managing Director
Owns every client engagement and makes sure what we promise is delivered. Leads Risk Talent and operations.
Benn specialises in the senior and hard-to-fill roles in risk: chief risk officers, heads of risk, and the specialists a firm cannot find through the usual channels. He has worked only in risk recruitment and executive search since 2003, and founded one of the UK’s first recruitment agencies dedicated to risk.
His searches cover credit, market, prudential and operational risk, quantitative and qualitative, up to chief risk officer and non-executive director. Clients have included fintech start-ups and multinational banks, and he works as readily alongside an in-house talent acquisition team as with a global recruitment process outsourcing provider.

How we work
Every mandate has a founding partner accountable for it from the first call to the finish, with the right people from our bench doing the work.
The practices feed each other: an advisory project can end with the right hire, searches are briefed by people who know the technical work, and the training draws on both.
Our partners also write for the profession. In February 2026 ACCA’s AB magazine published Don’t underestimate Basel reforms, by Benn Pople and Mark Dougherty.
